Summer Fun with a Spit Roast BBQ Party

The end of spring brings with it the return of barbecues in the neighborhood, sending the aroma of grilled food to the neighbors. As the season changes to summer, the weather becomes perfect for outdoor activities. The table invites family and guests to sit down and enjoy the delicious grilled offerings such as burgers and grilled corn on the cob. Those lucky enough to have a spit over their grill frequently use it for a spit-roasted barbecue. Perfect for special occasions or a normal meal at home, it is an ideal offer for guests and family.

One of the first steps is to clean the grill and the tips. Rinse them well and dry them. If the roast already has ties in place, leave them alone as they hold the roast together while turning. For added flavor, place fresh onion slices and a clove or two of garlic in the center of the roast along the side of the spit. You can also marinate the meat the night before, cover and refrigerate overnight. Salt and pepper the meat to taste after it has been cooked.

Consider the people you are inviting to the barbecue party before planning the menu. Hot dogs and burgers are great for kids and teens, but some adults just want a little more. Both chicken and potatoes are perfect when grilled. The late afternoon brings sunset and a gentle breeze to make visitors feel at home while they wait for the roast to finish cooking. Small tables around the patio and picnic table provide enough space for people to sit. Sometimes you’ll find the group hanging out by the barbecue, waiting for everything to finish cooking.

If you decide to have burgers in addition to the roast, you can make them plain or fancy. Slice mushrooms and tomatoes ahead of time. Fry bacon strips in the morning, drain the fat and spread them out in a foil packet. Put the package on the grill about 3 minutes before serving to let it warm up a bit and then put it out on the table for anyone who wants bacon with their burger. You can also have cheese slices ready to go on top of the hot burger. It will melt while sitting in the bun.

Light up the night with decorative patio lights and beautiful solar lights placed around the patio. They light up paths and steps around the patio. Guests will notice the features you’ve highlighted, such as the birdbath, gazebo, and pond. You may be surprised to discover the versatility of low voltage outdoor lighting. Both economical and eco-friendly, people will relax more with the glow that drives away the darkness of night and increases safety from tripping or falling.

Set up the barbecue using disposable plastic cutlery and paper plates, napkins and cups. Place a plastic bag of leaves in a large dumpster for guests to dispose of their trash. If you have a tablecloth on the table, use hanging weights to support it when the wind blows. If you don’t need leftovers, find out who wants to take some home and pack the food appropriately. The event will be fun as well as successful.
