The world’s fastest production supercars

Throughout the years, we have been blessed with some truly amazing fast cars. From the 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO to the current power of the Bugatti Veyron, these super-fast cars have been the envy of many and the true dream of some. These days super cars are insanely fast with super cool cars like the Koeinigsegg CCR and Bugatti Veyron covering a football field per second when at full speed. These super fast cars will still be a pin in the wall for most of us, unless you have an oil rig or win the lottery. If you are lucky enough to be able to afford one of these incredible machines, or would just like to keep dreaming, we’ve put together a guide to some of the fastest production cars in the world below.

McLaren F1:

Launched in 1994, the McLaren F1 was the father of all supercars for more than 10 years. It was the fastest road legal production car of all time before finally being knocked out of first place by the Koeinigsegg CCR. McLaren F1 is still regarded by many as the greatest supercar of all time. Although over 15 years old, the McLaren F1 still packs a punch with its 6.1L (6064cc) V12 engine making 627 horsepower. The car has a central driving position that makes it feel more like F1. And with an acceleration speed of 0-60 in 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 241 mph, this is not a problem.

Koeinigsegg CCR:

Then we have the Koeinigsegg CCS designed and manufactured in Angelholm, Sweden, 2004, this impressive looking machine holds the belt to defeat the McLaren F1 from its top spot. The Koeinigsegg CCS has a 6-speed manual transmission with 6790 rpm. The engine is a Ford 4.7L modular V8 that drinks juice faster than an Arabian desert. The Koeinigsegg CCS has a top speed of 242 mph and does 0-60 in 3.2 seconds.

Enzo Ferrari:

Named after the great man at Ferrari, expectations were high when this beast was announced in 2003. And I’m happy to say that it has lived up to them. With its F1-style sequential-shift transmission and carbon fiber bodywork, this car also has F1 credentials. The enzo has a 6.0L V12 engine that produces 651 horsepower and does 0-60 in 3.6 seconds with a high rpm rate of 7800 giving it a top speed of 218 mph.

Bugatti Veyron:

The Bugatti veyron is a monster vehicle, it costs around $ 12,000,000 to produce the first one! The Bugatti has 6 amazing radiators, that’s more than your average home! The Bugatti broke the record for the world’s fastest production car in October 2005, hitting 253 mph! 0-60 in 2.43 seconds. The engine is a massive 8.0-liter W16 with four turbochargers.

SSC Ultimate Aero TT:

Made by Shelby supercars, the Ultimate Aero TT is the fastest production car in the world today, beating the mighty Veyron by 2.5 mph. With an incredible top speed of 254 mph, this will take some beating. The Ultimate aero TT has 1,183 hp and accelerates from 0 to 60 in 2.78 seconds. This is definitely an impressive American masterpiece!

So there you have it 5 of the fastest production cars in the world. However, some folks have gone to extremes to fit their Skyline or Supra or other upgraded sports cars into 1000 bop monsters, but you can find information on quick import cars on the web. There are many more dream machines that I have not mentioned, such as the Lamborghini Diablo, the Zonda F, and the Porsche 911 GT3.
