We are a society that likes to spread the blame, who do you blame for the state of your health?

In today’s society it is commonplace to look for someone to blame when something goes wrong; point the finger and put the responsibility at someone else’s door. After all, if they had done their job correctly, everything would have been fine, wouldn’t it?

Even we do this in relationships, bad things that happen are always the other party’s fault or due to some external circumstances, we never really want to take responsibility for our own actions and reactions to situations and circumstances.

It is the same with our health, weight and obesity! The blame lies largely at the doorstep of the food industry, the diet industry, the government, education in schools, the health care service…

… the list goes on!!

In reality, however, while the actions of those bodies have a strong impact on us as individuals, blaming them for our individual plight is futile.

The truth is that guilt is not the issue here; the real problem is responsibility. Blaming ourselves for the state of our health can be incredibly damaging as it can make us feel inadequate, hopeless, and helpless. Choosing to take responsibility and decide to make changes for ourselves, regardless of outside influences, is empowering, constructive, and uplifting!

You can’t afford to wait until the government and the food and diet industry get together and stop producing poor quality food at cheap prices. Blaming THEM won’t make you miraculously healthier!

YOU have to decide for yourself and choose to change your lifestyle and diet! It doesn’t have to be as difficult as it may seem at first.

The choices YOU make affect not only YOU but everyone around you and also affect future generations of your family! Blaming others (or yourself) will not change what YOU do and what happens to you, YOU will just become another statistic!

There may be confusing information about which diet is best and which type of exercise is best, but what isn’t confusing is that fast food and a lack of fruits, vegetables, and whole foods make you sick and overweight.

YOU can decide today to rise up and fly against the norm and make a difference in your own life!

Big changes may be required from the Government and other agencies to help stop this rot from spreading further, but what they will do tomorrow will not help YOU today!

There may be evidence that junk food and sugar are addictive, but YOU have the ability to learn to make better choices!

A bag of apples is no more expensive than the multi-pack of potato chips YOU always buy! Water is no more expensive than the bottles of cola or juice YOU buy!

It may cost to go to the local gym or pool, but walking is free and available to everyone, including YOU!

YOU really do have choices, your life is in your hands and you owe it to yourself to make the best of it.

Whether you believe in reincarnation or think we’re only here once, we can only live this particular life once, so we might as well make it count and make the best life we can.

When you stop blaming others and give the power back to yourself, you will start to feel amazing, about yourself and about your life!

YOU are worth much more, you just decided that you are!!
