Traveling workouts

With more people than ever traveling for business and pleasure, the greater the need to learn to exercise effectively while away from home.

Traveling shouldn’t bring your exercise program to a standstill. Get creative in your exercise choices, be realistic regardless, and manage your time more effectively based on how busy your schedule is.

Research shows that 4 15-minute workouts are as effective as 1 60-minute workout. Bottom line: more efficient use of your time, increased energy expenditure, increased metabolism four times instead of once, and physiological production of happy hormones and endorphins throughout the day to keep you energized, in a good mood and mentally alert. .

So how does this relate to exercise? Before breakfast, put on your trainers and go to the gym for a 10-minute run and stretch, or go for a swim. After lunch, walk for 15 minutes around the hotel grounds. This will also help the digestion process so you don’t feel full when you go back to work. Once your meetings are over, head to the gym for a quick 15-20 minute circuit of strength training. Circuit training will ensure that your heart rate remains elevated, maximizing your energy expenditure, completing your workout in much less time, and creating a new training response for your body to adapt and respond. Forget your 3 sets of 10. If you have access to a gym, do all of your exercises one at a time, alternating muscle groups. Then go to the shower to get ready for dinner. It really is as easy as that!

You will have to be disciplined to do it the first time, but once you’ve tried it once, it will become as routine as brushing your teeth, and it will feel fantastic!

Here are some other tips to increase your physical activity while traveling for business:

o Schedule your exercise sessions as you would business appointments. They are equally important and essential to your well-being, especially when traveling on business.

o Brainstorm while your colleagues walk instead of in a meeting room

o Walk through the airport while waiting to board the plane.

o Walk instead of taking the escalators, you will find that you get there faster than those who take the ride!

o Take the stairs instead of the elevator, or go down a few floors early and walk the rest of the way.

o Pack your resistance tubes.

o Pack your jump rope.

Try these simple but highly effective steps to maximize your activity, productivity, and performance while traveling on business.

Good luck with your future fitness efforts.
