Why I like to have my own small business

1-When did you start in the cleaning/janitorial business, how/why?

I started my cleaning service in 1983 in Cherry Hill NJ. I was the largest residential/commercial cleaning service in the tri-state area. I sold the company in 1993 to a large franchise and moved to North Carolina. I open a smaller cleaning service in Fayetteville NC and eventually expand to the coastal areas. I am currently one of the largest companies in NC and plan to be the largest in the NC and SC coastal communities within 2 years. I have what it takes and I will not stop until I am the biggest and the best in the business.

2-What do you think is your biggest challenge when managing your business? By finding quality workers, we eventually find what we’re looking for, but we’ll review 30-40 applicants just to find 1-2 good honest workers.

3- Where do you expect your business to be in 10 years?

I hope to be the largest commercial cleaning service in North Carolina. But I also plan to start some charities to give back to the communities we work in. There is a great need in this area for help with paying for housing, clothing, food and utilities needed by seniors and single parents and we have plans to offer a service that will provide and help provide the help they need. There are some older people who don’t even have heating or air conditioners that work in the sweltering heat. This is the true desire of my heart.

4- What are your feelings about the cleaning/janitorial industry? It is a strong industry, there will always be a need for a good quality cleaning service in the corporate world. But the need is for GOOD quality cleaning companies, not overnight services that don’t have proper insurance and don’t pay taxes…there’s no place in this business for companies like that and they’re not building a solid foundation for themselves. themselves when running their businesses with shaky business plans.

5- If you could change something about your business, what would it be? not a thing

6-Are you adding new services or equipment that will benefit your customers? Yes, we are offering pressure washing. We attend all seminars and have fully trained staff with a combined 18 years of experience to meet the needs of the community. We will be adding two truck-mounted carpet cleaning systems next year, allowing us to keep up with the demanding carpet cleaning industry in this area.

7-Describe how you use IJCSA to benefit your business. or the benefits you enjoy. Well, we really didn’t know much about the coastal areas of the state when it came to the field of commercial cleaning. I researched all the resources online and IJCSA provided me with the extensive information I needed to obtain. This site has taught me more in one year than I could have learned on my own in 2 years. The people involved with this service are from all over the world and are willing to share their information and experience at any time. It has been a true reward to find this company.

8-Tell us something about yourself that is not related to cleaning, family, cars, things you enjoy

Well I enjoy spending time with my family and my toy poodles, we live on the water so we participate in many water sports, boating, fishing, crabbing, tubing, water skiing and canoeing. We really love water. We do other things too, lots of barbecues and family get togethers. But besides my family and my Poodles, my true love is Jesus Christ our flavor and God without them he would have nothing and he would be a lonely person. It is due to the Mercy and Grace of God that I have a family and I have eternal life. You can have it too. It is there for ALL OF US. My greatest GOAL in life will be to give back to others what God HAS ALLOWED ME to have, I know that I can never give more than God… BUT I will always give what I have.
