Cooking Academy 2 World Cooking Game Review

Cooking Academy 2 World Cuisine follows in the footsteps of its predecessor Cooking Academy and is the game for the individual who loves to cook new things in the kitchen. Cooking Academy 2 is a great collection of cooking mini-games that can really help you spice things up in your own kitchen. The concept has been done before, but this game is a lot of fun to play.

The game continues from the last installment of Cooking Academy, where you are a budding chef and very lucky to attend the Annual World Culinary Workshop. There is the incentive that once you are the best student at the end of the workshop, you are awarded 1 million dollars to set up your own restaurant.

The cooking tasks in Cooking Academy 2 World Cuisine are quite similar to those in the original game. The mouse is used for all actions in this game, with the mouse being used to mince garlic and stir sauces. The recipes are from many different ethnic backgrounds and are organized accordingly. Once you complete a batch, enter cooking exams and complete special tasks to advance. You can redo recipes and practice as many times as you want and replay levels to get better scores in the game.

Some add-ons from the previous installment include the ability to play hidden object games in the fridge raid sections where you search for the particular ingredients you need for a particular recipe. Washing items is also new to Cooking Academy 2. You can wash items by filling a pot with water and moving the water and item around with your mouse and then emptying the water. Other fun mini-games include making citrus juice where you slice the fruit and then squeeze it with your mouse and the filling game where the donuts are filled with cream.

In Cooking Academy 2 World Cuisine, compared to other cooking games, the gameplay is much more relaxed. You can complete tasks much easier. There were stripping tasks and many others that required a lot of precision in other games, but here they are much more easily accomplished with speed as the focal point. Cutting dough used to be a dreaded task but here it is so much better and easier to complete. The game has a lot of clock tasks to reinforce the need for speed. There’s the typical egg cracker on the rim of a bowl that needs adequate speed, and plenty more to keep you busy for days.

The most challenging tasks available in Cooking Academy 2 include baking and frying. When baking, the oven temperature must be set correctly and then turned off when the meter is in the green area. This is not a stationary target and is quite difficult to time. Frying requires flipping some ingredients and this is also difficult as it could result in burns if not done on time and there are multiple tasks to be done at the same time.
