Is the Dreamliner and Worksheet worth the effort?

If you google “dreamline worksheet” on the internet, you will find nearly a million sites to explore the dreamline worksheet. So is the dreamline worksheet worth the time and effort to complete? After reading and then completing the dreamline worksheet myself, I can honestly say, ABSOLUTELY! When you have completed the worksheet, you will find a direction in which to travel to achieve all your dreams. I think it’s the best way to finally live the life of your dreams! It’s a place to record everything you want to do, be, or have for the next 12 months. You should do this every year, ABSOLUTELY! Hopefully, your dreams will extend well beyond one year as it becomes a lifestyle that will lead you to the lifestyle you want for your life.

Your dream line will record what you would actually do with your life day by day if you had all the money you could ever want. Should your dream line be easily achievable? NO. Your dream line must be unrealistic to be usable. DREAM…big dreams, small dreams, whatever your passions, dream them. Do not put restrictions on what you dream of. This is the valuable purpose of the dream line worksheet.

Think about this thought. If he woke up one morning, he went online to pay some bills and found that his bank account showed $100 million. My first reaction would be, “no way.” The second action would be to call the bank. Suppose the bank was correct. What would you do? Do you have a plan? How would you spend your days? These are the questions that can be answered by completing the dreamline worksheet.

It is easy? No way. It’s hard to let go and dream big. Too often we get caught up in the rat race of living month by month, moment by moment, those finicky details. We do not allow ourselves to explore our true desires. Please keep in mind that this is not about what you can have. Those are just things. Things won’t keep you happy. When you work toward the 4-hour work week, you’ll have time to do the things you’ve always wanted to do. Possession of “things” will not help you perform these activities. See what Tim Ferriss says about owning things and the dreamline worksheet.

Tim Ferriss, who wrote The 4-Hour Work Week and introduced the Dream Line Worksheet, says, “The Dream Line is most effective for three reasons:
Goals go from ambiguous desires to defined steps.
Goals have to be unrealistic to be effective.
It focuses on activities, not just owning things.”

He also designed a template for the dreamline worksheet. Jared from Technotheory worked on the worksheet and developed an online one that is great to use. Visit it at http://www.technotheory.com/2008/03/dreamline-worksheet-20-updates-to-the-popular-4-hour-workweek-spreadsheet/ to get your free copy. It’s definitely worth it.

So, to answer the original question: Is the Dreamline and worksheet worth the effort? I absolutely say yes. But you are the one who makes the decisions. You tell me if it’s worth it. When you start to see your dreams come true, I think you’ll agree too, the Dream Line Worksheet was the catalyst to get you moving in the right direction. Sweet Dreams!
