The theory of operation of dishwashers

Dishwashers are a category of household appliances that take care of your most tedious job, washing dishes and kitchen utensils. Dishwashers were considered as a symbol of lavishness during the earlier era. Time has changed and so has technology. Many high-end dishwashers feature the option of a 3-in-1 or 5-in-1 tablet selector that automatically detects the category of detergent used and adjusts the wash settings accordingly.

A dishwasher’s spray system sprays water through jets vigorously to remove even dried-on stains effectively. The sprayed water collects at the bottom and is drained. This rinsing process is carried out repeatedly until the dishes are completely cleaned and the drain is expelled through an outlet tube. The orbital spray system is one of the most common types of spray system, where water is sprayed through the jets in a rotating fashion, so that the water reaches every part of the dishes evenly.

Drying

After the wash cycles are finished, a dishwasher dries dishes using various methodologies, which can vary depending on the type and brand of dishwasher. The most common drying method is residual drying, which uses the hot air produced during the last cycle to dry the dishes.

A dishwasher is designed with certain features that also contribute to the performance of the appliance. Some of the features are:

A dishwasher has a special provision for rinse aid, from which it is dispensed at the precise moment of the cycle. These rinse aids include surfactant particles that prevent the formation of white spots (due to lime scale formation) on the surface of dishes.
