Christmas ideas for block parties

Let’s all try something new and exciting this holiday season. I recently helped a couple in Florida who wanted to do something innovative this year for the holidays. I suggested a block party on vacation.

Of course, this would only work if you live in an area where the weather is good in December. If you are lucky enough to have this nice weather and don’t dream of a white Christmas, let me give you some tips and ideas.

First, you would make some really nice Christmas invitations to send out to your neighbors and friends. You must remember that many people are busy during this time of year, so I suggest you do it in early December. Give some dates and let the masses decide when that will be.

Second, you’ll want all participating houses to know that they should plan to decorate the house, in a festive manner depending on the religion. You have to try to accommodate everyone.

Next, I hire a DJ to play festive, festive music. He would have a pony ride and set up some games for the event. You can find lots of ideas at theblockpartyhome.com.

Someone has to dress up as Santa Claus and give gifts. I would like all the parents in the participating houses to get something for their children and give it to whoever is going to be Santa. You don’t want to leave anyone out, so when you set up a family budget, be sure to set aside some money to buy some cheap toys to pass out in case the parents give away a gift.

Some other ideas. Bring the Christmas tree to the driveway. celebrate a

50/50 raffle (you can get tickets at theblockpartyhome.com). Host a pie eating contest, just be creative.
