Learn about HSBC’s online banking services

HSBC, known as the world’s local bank, is a world leader in banking and financial services. According to Forbes magazine, it is the second largest banking and financial services group and the second largest public company in terms of composite measures as of 2011. It has approximately 7,500 offices in 87 countries and territories in Europe, the Asia- Pacific, the Americas, the Middle East and Africa. HSBC is a universal bank with four divisions or service lines: private, commercial, investment and retail banking. It also offers a number of financial products such as credit/debit cards, loans, insurance, and the like.

HSBC allows its customers to carry out banking activities through its online banking. This service option allows the customer to perform banking transactions online. These transactions include, but are not limited to, bill payments, funds transfers, loan applications, viewing recent bank transactions, and account management. Online banking caters to customers with advanced technology preferences and those who are unable to conduct transactions during regular banking hours. This gives them the opportunity to manage financial affairs via the Internet even during the early hours of the morning from their homes.

You simply must have an account with HSBC to qualify for their internet banking. It is also recommended that you use an HSBC compatible browser in order to use Personal Internet Banking and to protect your account.

To sign up for this banking service, you may need to have your Social Security Number, your HSBC ATM, credit/debit card along with your PIN. If you don’t have any of these, the rest of your account information, such as your checking/savings account, mortgage, home equity information, and/or loan account, will suffice, but it will take 5 days to register on completion. This will help securely verify your identity and give you immediate access to Internet banking.

A confirmation email with your temporary username and password will be sent to notify you of access. You will then be able to do personal banking online the first time you sign in, but you will be prompted to change your preferred username and password. In addition, you will be provided with a security key the first time you log in to the service.

Internet banking is guaranteed fast and secure by HSBC. It has changed the banking style for different types of customers by introducing internet banking and much more that it has to offer. Surely, all it takes is effort to log on to the internet and banking is at its best.
